Celebrity Cruises announced that it will return to South America for the first time in 10 years with a new ship, Celebrity Eclipse. The company’s last visit to this destination was on board the Celebrity Century in 2007.
Celebrity Cruises has announced their return to South America with the “celebrity eclipse” in 2023. The cruise line will be sailing from Miami, Florida to Buenos Aires, Argentina and back again.
With the return of Celebrity Cruises’ “Journey WonderFULL” sailings in 2023, passengers will be able to experience everything that South America has to offer, including great cultures, history, natural beauty, beautiful wildlife, and more.
Celebrity Eclipse will travel south of the Equator for four months, visiting 16 sites on 14-night Antarctica excursions and 12-night Argentina and Patagonia cruises.

Celebrity Eclipse will visit prominent bucket-list locations like as Valparaiso, Chile, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and even the tip of Antarctica from December 2023 to April 2024. Guests will be able to get up up and personal with Chile’s Osorno Volcano, go whale watching on Argentina’s Playa El Doradillo, and surf on Montevideo’s stunning beaches.

“Travel has the capacity to broaden our minds, expose us to other cultures, and provide us with very gratifying experiences.” Celebrity Cruises’ President and CEO, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, remarked, “Celebrity brings its passengers to far-flung corners of the world while providing unrivaled luxury vacation excursions.” “We have a lot planned for 2023, and we’re excited to show our visitors the culture and charm of the globe as they Journey WonderFULLSM with us.”
The journey begins with a 16-night repositioning voyage from Los Angeles to Chile, which includes stops in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; and two overnights in Lima, Peru, giving travelers plenty of time to see the country’s most popular tourist destination.
The 16-day sailings will guarantee visitors enjoy one of the most exciting and unique holidays ever, with eight ports in six countries and no more than two consecutive days at sea. If visitors miss out on the trip to Chile, they will have another opportunity in April 2024 when the Celebrity Eclipse returns to Los Angeles in reverse.

Celebrity Eclipse will offer two itineraries after it has established into this exciting region of the globe. The first is a 12-night Argentina and Patagonia cruise from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires (or vice versa), while the second is a 14-night Antarctica cruise from Buenos Aires.
The Argentina and Patagonia cruise offers a lot of ports but also has days at sea for luxury leisure, whilst the Antarctica round-trip has more cruising days with outstanding landscape and animal watching chances, such as spotting humpback whales, leopard seals, gentoo penguins, and more.
