The “norwegian joy itinerary 2020” is a Norwegian Cruise Ship that has been changed with an additional port added. The new itinerary will be in effect from 2020 until 2021.

Norwegian Cruise Line has made some minor alterations to the Norwegian Joy’s New York City sailings. The adjustment will almost certainly be welcomed by visitors. The cruise company will add Norfolk, Virginia, to the seven-day itinerary sailing from New York City to Bermuda for four sailings beginning in May 2022.

Norwegian Joy Expands Itinerary With Virginia Beach

Norwegian Cruise Line has previously added Norfolk, Virginia to the itinerary for Norwegian Bliss in 2023. The cruise company should do the same for cruises in 2022, it seems logical. That is exactly what has happened.

Guests on Norwegian Joy’s May 1, May 8, May 15, and May 22, 2022 voyages will now be able to spend a full day at Virginia Beach or schedule a visit to Colonial Williamsburg before sailing to another historical site in Bermuda, the Royal Naval Dockyard. Guests booked on cruises in June and July seem to have an extra port of call as well.

The revised schedule now leaves on Sundays from New York, with a stop in Norfolk on Monday followed by a day at sea. The next days are spent at the Royal Naval Dockyard: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Saturday is spent at sea before returning to New York City early the next morning.

The inclusion of Norfolk, Virginia, gives visitors even more reason to book. It has the world’s biggest naval base, is close to the historic city of Williamsburg, and has numerous magnificent historic areas to visit.

Walking around the shoreline of downtown Hampton Roads is a wonderful opportunity to observe moored ships, yachts, and tugboats, while the Hampton Roads Naval Museum and the battleship USS Wisconsin give insight into the city’s lengthy naval history.

Norwegian Cruise Line has made a number of schedule modifications in recent weeks. Norwegian Gem’s November 28 cruise from New York has been canceled, a stop to Bermuda has been deleted from Norwegian Getaway’s 17-day transatlantic journey, Norwegian Encore’s November 14 sailing from Miami has been canceled, and Norwegian Epic’s transatlantic voyage has been changed.

The ship sails a series of seven-day roundtrip Caribbean voyages that visit Roatán, Honduras, Costa Maya, and Cozumel, Mexico, as well as Harvest Caye, the cruise line’s exclusive island destination in Belize. These week-long cruises will be available until April 2022 aboard Norwegian Joy.

The Norwegian Joy was originally scheduled to sail in the Chinese market, however the cruise line withdrew the ship from Asia in April 2019 in order to start operations from the United States.

According to some sources, the ship operated in China for little over a year; nevertheless, various issues occurred between the cruise company and Chinese customs, causing the cruise operator to withdraw the Norwegian Joy from the country.

The corporation has decided to go the road of only sailing with 100% of the passengers and staff members completely vaccinated aboard, with no exceptions. Despite recent claims of a slight caseload aboard Norwegian Breakaway, this method has worked effectively for the cruise operator.
