Two More Carnival Cruise Ships Undergo Dry Dock

Two Carnival Cruise ships undergo dry dock, two more to follow in the next few months. The company claims this will bring about fewer operational problems, increased reliability and reduced costs for customers.

The “cruise ship dry dock schedule 2021” is a topic that has been on the rise recently. Carnival Cruise Line announced 2 more ships will be undergoing dry dock in 2021.

Carnival Cruise Line is not only resuming operations, but also completing dry docks on its ships. The new red, white, and blue livery has already been applied to eight boats, with two more on the way. Carnival Sunshine and Carnival Spirit are undergoing renovations at the moment.

Cadiz’s Carnival Sunshine Dry Dock

Carnival Sunshine is the most recent ship in the fleet to enter dry dock, after a hectic year of ship improvements as the cruise company prepares to relaunch. The ship will be followed by the Carnival Paradise, which was recently upgraded at a shipyard in Cadiz, Spain.

On October 21, the Sunshine-class ship arrived at Cadiz, Spain, to get the new red, white, and blue livery, which has already been applied to eight Carnival cruise ships, as well as the new Mardi Gras.

The Carnival Sunshine was photographed when she landed in Cadiz in October to prepare for the renovation, thanks to Barcos Por Cadiz. The fresh livery and paint job, as shown in the picture, were much required.

Carnival Sunshine is getting some standard hotel maintenance as well as some small improvements in addition to the new livery. When it comes to refurbishments, new carpets, tiling, and other improvements are often made in certain departments around the ship. It’s the ship’s eighth dry dock, dating back to when it was known as the Carnival Destiny before being renamed in 2013.

Carnival Sunshine will be ready to welcome visitors back aboard on January 13, when she departs Charleston, South Carolina for the first time since March 2020. The first of the four-day sailings will stop at Nassau, Bahamas. The ship will continue to conduct four- and five-day voyages to the Bahamas, with the five-day cruises featuring a stop at Half Moon Cay.

After being turned from the Carnival Destiny, the 102,853 gross ton Carnival Sunshine is the first of its kind in its class. After being renovated from Carnival Victory, sister ship Carnival Radiance just became the third ship in the same class.

Dubai’s Carnival Spirit Dry Dock

Another ship is now undergoing a much-needed refurbishment. Carnival Spirit is undergoing a dry dock in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and is now on hold.

Carnival Spirit, like many other ships in the fleet, is getting a new red, white, and blue livery. The navy blue featured on officer uniforms and the Carnival colors visible on the distinctive ship funnels throughout the fleet inspired the design.

Routine maintenance will be performed, as well as upgrades such as carpeting and tiling around the vessel. The loss of Ol’ Fashioned BBQ will be one of the most significant changes on board.

In comparison to some of the earlier renovations, this one is very small. Fat Jimmy’s C-Side BBQ changed to Ol’ Fashioned BBQ in 2018, while Carnival Spirit received a big facelift with multiple venue upgrades.

All of the popular FUN 2.0 outlets, including Guy’s Burger Joint, were added to the ship in 2015. Even in 2012, the ship had a new adults-only section, Waterworks, and a slew of other amenities.

Even though the Carnival Spirit will soon be as good as new, no date has been set for when the ship will resume cruise operations in Australia. The Carnival cruise ship, along with the Carnival Splendor, an Australian-based liner, has been on hold in Dubai for the most of the time since the suspensions began in Spring 2020.

Hopefully, the Australian authorities will have a clear route to resume operations, and Carnival Spirit passengers will be able to enjoy the new look in the coming months. The Spirt-class ship has a gross tonnage of 88,500 tons, a passenger capacity of 2,124 at double occupancy, and a crew of 930 foreign crew members.
