Antigua and Barbuda officials are easing entry protocols to the country in an effort to encourage tourism. This decision comes on the heels of a travel advisory warning tourists about potential rioting, violence, and even kidnapping near popular resorts over high levels of crime.
The “antigua to barbuda” is a country that has recently eased entry protocols for tourists. The new policies allow visitors to enter the country without a visa.
Antigua and Barbuda, which had record tourist arrivals this summer, will now operate under COVID-19 entrance rules that are less stringent, according to officials with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.
For entrance into Antigua and Barbuda, fully vaccinated tourists must submit a negative RT PCR test result obtained within four days of arrival or a negative result from an authorized fast antigen test result taken within three days of arrival, according to authorities.
What’s Hot Right Now
To enter Antigua and Barbuda, tourists and returning residents must have received at least one dose of a two-dose COVID 19 vaccination or a single-dose vaccine authorized by the World Health Organization or the Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment. Unvaccinated minors aged five to eighteen must provide a negative RT PCR test within four days of their arrival.
Prior to arriving in Antigua and Barbuda, all travelers must fill out a health declaration form. Based on the filled form, a Quarantine Authority official or an authorized health officer will conduct evaluations, including temperature checks, to decide whether visitors should be tested upon arrival. It is mandatory for visitors to stay in a recognized hotel or resort.
Passengers arriving in Antigua and Barbuda without or with inaccurate COVID 19 test results will be charged $100 to conduct a mandatory RT PCR test. Visitors who are requested to undergo tests as part of the Quarantine Authority’s screening process will not be charged.
As the winter vacation season approaches, Antigua and Barbuda continues to enhance access to the destination. Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Equinox arrived in St. John’s Harbour in August, resuming operations at the Antigua Cruise Port. The port’s general manager, Dona Regis-Prosper, remarked, “The disembarkation of passengers was carefully handled to prevent the chance of COVID-19 spreading.”
“We continue to maintain and improve our COVID-19 risk mitigation measures on a daily basis to guarantee that every passenger on every journey is as safe as possible,” Regis-Prosper said.
