Welcome to the Cruise Radio News review for the week of October 24 to 30, 2021, where you’ll find the most up-to-date cruise news, our weekly podcast, and a recent YouTube video.

1. The CDC’s Conditional Sailing Order was renewed on Monday. There were various changes included with the extension, some of which we go through in depth and explain. We also look at six big “outbreaks” documented by the CDC since sailings started in the United States in June.

2. Carnival Radiance arrived on Miami after undergoing substantial dry dock work in Cadiz, Spain. The renamed ship (she was formerly known as the Carnival Victory) will depart for her new homeport of Long Beach, California, shortly.

3. MSC Cruises has announced a competition to design the hull of its newest ship, MSC Euribia. Entrants from all around the globe are invited to submit artwork with a marine subject. The winner’s design will be painted on the vessel’s hull, while the five runners-designs up’s will be shown at an onboard exhibition.

4. On Monday, the Scarlet Lady, a Virgin Voyages ship, rescued eight individuals in a tiny boat between Florida and Cuba. The ship then turned around and went towards Key West, where it was met by a Coast Guard cutter and passengers were transferred. The unexpected rescue had no bearing on Scarlet Lady’s plans.

5. On Thursday, Disney Magic launched a series of Bahamas sailings from Miami, Florida, after a summer of staycation cruises in the United Kingdom. The ship will stop in Nassau and Disney’s own island Castaway Cay on these cruises. The cruise will also go to the western Caribbean, stopping at Castaway Cay and Cozumel.
