The United States has made the decision to extend its travel warning for Americans traveling to four more countries in Africa, including Somalia.

According to CNN, Turkey and Montenegro were previously classified as Level 3, or “high” COVID-19 risk destinations, while Dominica, a Caribbean island, was previously classified as a Level 1, or “low” risk destination. COVID-19 levels for the British Crown dependent of Jersey had previously been classified as “unknown.”
Other locations, however, fell into the Level 3 category, which denotes “high” COVID-19 levels or a “reconsider travel” warning, depending on which organization you consult. Chile, Mozambique, and Uruguay were downgraded from Level 4 to Level 2, while Kosovo and North Macedonia were promoted from Level 2 to Level 3.
Destinations with a Level 4 “very high” or “do not travel” warning have reported more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 28 days, according to CDC standards. Level 3 ratings are given to nations that have reported between 100 and 500 incidents per 100,000 people in the same time period.
