5 Reasons to Take a Short Cruise

Cruises are an excellent way to see the world. They’re also a great way to relax, get away from it all, and enjoy some quality time with friends or family. Here are five reasons why you should consider taking a short cruise this summer.

There are many reasons to take a short cruise. These include the chance to meet new people, the opportunity for adventure and relaxation, and the chance to explore different cultures. Read more in detail here: top tips for cruises.

It’s hard to imagine, but not long ago, you could get on a ship and go on an overnight “cruise to nowhere” from a variety of ports throughout the nation.

While they are no longer available in the United States, shorter cruises are becoming more popular, making it feasible to enjoy a complete cruise experience without taking a week or more off work.

A number of cruise lines are now providing three and four-night trips, with many of them including excursions to private islands.

For example, I just returned from a four-night cruise on the Disney’s Fantastical World (which you can read about here), and Celebrity Cruises is now offering a discount on short cruises on several of their most popular ships, including the newly new Celebrity Apex.

Is a short cruise, however, really worth it? If you’re still not persuaded, keep reading to see why you should consider getting one. After all, we’ve been locked up fantasizing about sailing since early 2020 and could use a break.

1. It’s the Ideal Cruising Starter Kit

Whether you or a member of your party is concerned that they will not like cruising — as difficult as it is for many of us to believe — a three- or four-night sailing vacation provides the ideal chance to give it a try without committing to a longer journey. (Of course, once they realize what they’ve been missing, we expect them to schedule a longer trip right once!)

2. Maximum enjoyment for the least amount of time spent

We can’t always go away for a week or more, no matter how much we want to. But, after all, there’s always a way to cram a vacation into a long weekend, right? Put a few items in a bag and go to the pier, leaving your concerns behind on the dock. They’ll be ready for you when you return, we promise!

3. The Price Is Unbeatable

Sure, you could stay at a hotel for a few days, but consider all of the costs that aren’t included in the price. A cruise takes care of your food, entertainment, and other needs. And, if you want to try something else, like a specialized restaurant, a high-seas steakhouse is a lot less expensive per person than one on land.

Celebrity, for example, offers a four-night cruise on the Summit out of Miami beginning at $271 per person in late October.

4. The Best Date Night Ever (s)

Do you need a few days away with your significant other? There are plenty of ways to turn up the romance while sailing, whether it’s drinking drinks while watching the sun set or having massages on neighboring tables in the spa. There’s also the added benefit of a change of scenery.

5. The greater the number of people, the better.

A sail away from Miami is usually picture beautiful.

Traveling with your pals may be a lot of fun… However, planning a week when you can all go away at the same time may be very difficult. Things get a lot easier when you’re working with three or four days.

Plus, there’s so much to do (or not do, depending on your mood) aboard a ship that everyone — even that grumpy buddy who seems to despises everything (we all have one) — will find something to love.
